Singing in an Empty Room

Gebu is moving into my apartment, so I helped clear out the bedroom in advance. I have a habit of breaking into song anytime and anywhere, loudly or softly (mostly various songs by back number), and I tried it at the entrance to the empty room. It felt exactly as though I had switched on reverb. It does not happen anywhere else.

The smooth walls and carpet, together with the room’s suitable shape and size, mean that a singer need only stand in the doorway and make a sound to hear a voice with a richer, more blended resonance.
